Are you looking to buy blinds, and unsure which type will be the best for your needs?

Perhaps you are unsure if you should be choosing blinds or curtains?

On this Site we aim to cover such information as:

  • Pleated blinds; these are horizontally pleated blinds in order to create a concertina effect. This is a most popular style especially for as conservatory blinds as they can be individually crafted to fit into any shaped window.
  • French Pinoleum Blinds also sometime referred to as roman blinds, colonial blinds or sometimes plantation blinds these are made using thin strips of wood woven together to form the blind. Pinoleum blinds were originally made in Paris and first imported into the UK in the early 19th century. The Victorians used this product extensively in their summerhouses.
  • Roller blinds are produced in many different fabrics, but the most popular for conservatory blinds feature solar reflective aluminium backing. The idea is that the sunlight literally bounces back of the blinds, giving really effective control over temperature and glare.
  • Venetian blinds are horizontal slatted blinds that raise and lower as well as tilt to control the light. Made from a vast array of material which can be inclusive of various timbers to make wooden blinds.
  • Roman blinds, Plantations blinds, Colonial blinds, and roll up blinds basically refers to the method of operation for French Pinoleum blinds. Most conservatory blinds will be in a Roman Blind fashion that raises and lowers by means of folding. Roll up blinds or roller blinds on the other hand do precisely what their name suggests.
  • Blackout Blinds can be effective if perhaps you seek privacy, or perhaps you are constantly awoken earlier that you would want by bright sunlight? Blackout blinds could assist in providing you with a TV viewing area, and can be quite effective in creating that “designer” look.
  • Wood Blinds can bring charm to all window treatments and enhance the décor of your rooms, and can give your home that “natural” look.

Rebated blinds describes the way which pleated blinds are fitted, usually as conservatory blinds, they can be tailor made to fit into each individual window frame.

We will also look at energy saver blinds and explain a little more about light transmission and SolarTex.
